I would like to have the chance to welcome our new and present students. This has always been the moment that I like the most in my teaching career.
Our facilities are designed to accommodate more than two hundred fully equipped dental units, which are distributed among seven clinics. One of these clinics will be designated to serve different programs. An additional triple unit dental clinic is also available for diagnostic and minor surgical procedures. Each clinic is independently appointed with its own nursing staff, sterilization, dental x-ray, and filing units.
Teaching our students and graduates is our main concern. With this in mind, we have added to the dedicated and detailed education they receive a preparatory course, tailored for one of the most famous European international certificates, which is the fellowship of the Royal College both in restorative dentistry and implantology.
Equipped to the highest standard, an eight-unit dental clinic is available for the treatment of private patients by professors and consultants from the university dental hospital. The range of treatment covers all and every specialty in dentistry in an elite environment. The clinic specializes in updated technologies, including the facility of making porcelain crowns and fillings, using Computer-Aided Design and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAD-CAM) technology, surgical endodontic microscopes, laser devices, and ultrasonic surgical units.
Keeping patient data is a demanding job and each clinic is equipped with computers and personnel, who are responsible for paper files and computerized filing for all details of the patients’ medical conditions, and previous and ongoing dental treatments. These data should be kept available to all the clinics and saved for future reference. The computers in each clinic are served together through a computer network in order to gather patient related information into a digital central storage and archiving unit. The paper files are also stored during and after the completion of any dental treatment.
Nursing in the university dental hospital comprises a variety of tasks to be completed both during and outside dental procedure times:
To implement the best level of care for our patients and to help the students and interns understand and learn about oral diseases, a highly equipped oral pathology laboratory has been installed in the dental hospital.
The operating facility consists of two operating theaters that have the most sophisticated equipment in the field, operated at the highest professional level, to guarantee a perfect treatment for patients.
The hospital is equipped with the latest dental radiology units to ensure the patient receives the best care while providing students with experience in using modern techniques and equipment.
